Wear comfortable clothing. Your clothing should allow a full range of movement, but not baggy. You will find yourself upside down, on your back, and more.
Avoid heavy meals 2 hours before class. However, you may eat a light snack if you're extremely hungry such as fruit, nuts, yogurt, or juice, no less than 1 hour before class. Practice with food in the belly can be uncomfortable and unpleasant.
Bring a water bottle(something with a lid or spout that won't spill).
Arrive 10 minutes before scheduled class start time. This allows you time to arrive, set up your space, and begin to prepare your awareness for class.
Leave phones, etc, in your vehicle. If you musthave your phone with you, please set it to vibrate mode, inform the teacher you may receive an important call, and choose a place near the door so you can step outside to use your phone if needed.
We provide props for use during class, including blocks, straps, blankets, and mats. You are welcome to bring your own yoga "sticky" mat. We also provide mat cleaning spray for our mats, or for yours, which can be used after class.
Inform the teacher of any special needs. If you have a medical condition, are taking medications, have an injury, recent surgery, or are currently under a doctor's care, please let us know. We will be happy to give alternate instructions, or offer modifications, for you.
Classes vary with style and intensity, but all yoga classes include asana (poses), pranayama (breathing technique), meditation, and savasana (restorative relaxation).
